About the District
Grow Better Together
- Title 67, Chapter 49 aims to enhance local prosperity, security, and welfare. An Auditorium or Community Center District, per Idaho law, can build and operate public venues like auditoriums, convention centers, and sports facilities within its boundaries. This is our proposed boundary:
- With the creation of this District, tourists staying at our community’s hotels, motels, and short-term vacation rentals will pay up to a five percent tax on their stay. Those funds will then be passed on to the District to operate the Community Center and build future event centers, sports arenas, and facilities of similar nature. No locals pay the tax unless they lodge locally.
- We have created both a non-profit and PAC (Political Action Campaign Fund) to receive donations and the petition to get the measure on the November 2025 ballot.
- No new or increased property taxes will be necessary to support this District.

We’re not reinventing the wheel.
1959. Boise created the Boise Auditorium District, which funded the Boise Centre as well as other community spaces.
1998. Local voters approved the creation of the Pocatello-Chubbuck Auditorium District, which funded the Mountain View Events Center.
2011. The City of Idaho Falls created the Idaho Falls Auditorium District, which helped fund the Mountain America Center.
This proven business model will support local causes and this amazing Community Center while offsetting some of the strain tourism causes our community.
